Why is it so important to have correct date, place, and time of birth?
A horoscope is a map of the sky and a representation of where each planet was at the time of an important event. That event could be the birth of a child or starting of a new venture or even asking a question. It is important to accurately measure the degree of each planet as only an accurate map leads to a precise destination.
When an astrologer reads a horoscope using the Hindu Vedic astrology, he is not making educated guesses or using one’s psychic ability to read the future. He is actually reading the Karmic script brought forward by us to this incarnation. The Karmic script has a record of the good and bad Karma done by us in past lives and is recorded indelibly on the soul- causal body-astral body combination. By analyzing the ascendant and placement of planets in the birth chart and their influence on each other, one gets an accurate idea about how a person is going to fare in this life. If the brought forward Karma is good, one shall live a happy, prosperous and healthy life. The reverse is equally true.
If we were to aim a camera at the sky in New Delhi in India at any given moment of time and take a picture, it will record the planets as they were at the time of taking the picture. If a friend in New York also aimed a camera and took a picture of sky at exactly the same time when we did in India, he too will have a record of planets as they were over New York.
If we compare the two pictures we shall find that they are not exactly same, even though they were taken at the same time. Why did it happen like that? The answer is, because the two places are far apart. That means that the place plays an important role in determining the map of heavens at a given moment of time. The only accurate way to measure the location of a place on the world map is to find out its Longitude and latitude (coordinates). In other ways if we know the coordinates of a place we can find the position of planets over it at any time. This is done by referring to something known as ephemeris which is a record of the movement of planets.
Lets go back to our picture taking expedition again. If I shoot the sky at 9 AM and then again at 10 PM, I shall find that the pictures look different. Why? because the planets are moving in their orbits all the time and they have moved. This means that to have an accurate map of sky correct time is also very important.
We measure the time in years, months, days, hours, minutes and seconds. If we have the place as well as date and the time of an event in AM or PM we are in business and can make a horoscope.
The more accurate we are in noting down the date, time and place of an event the more accurate the map or horoscope will be. This will give better idea of the Karmic script in the horoscope leading to more accurate predictions.
