What are remedial measures and how do these work?

Our horoscope is nothing but a record of our good and bad Karma done by us in our past lives. This is recorded on *the soul-causal body-astral body combination and is never erased unless expended. The Karma generated by us in previous incarnations is huge and can not be expended in one life time. We therefore get only a small portion of it which is appropriate with the life span allotted to us in our present life time. The total volume of accumulated Karma is called Sanchit Karma, and the one allotted to be experienced in a life time is called Prarabdh Karma.

Prarabdh Karma is like a script in a play. From the time one is born to the time when one departs this earth, this play script is in action. The nine planets are a channel to bring the good and bad parts of the script to us.

Based on their placement and mutual relationships in a birth chart, planets become favorable or unfavorable. They either generate happiness, health and prosperity or sorrow, disease and poverty.

The ancient sages were very exalted beings. They were able to analyze the energy radiated by each planet and its effect on the life on earth. To reduce the ill effects and boost the desired ones, they used the energy generated by chanting a Sanskrit Mantra. They also uncovered and established a link between a planet and the herbs and minerals that represent that planet on earth.

By incorporating the Mantras, herbs and minerals in our daily life, we can boost or restrict the results of the planets.

For example Sun radiates an energy signature which is represented and boosted by chanting a simple Mantra OM HRAM HREEM HROM SAHA SOORYAYE NAMAHA. The seed sounds of the Mantra are Hram, Hreem and Hrom. These are the sounds that represent the sustaining energy of the universe. By chanting this simple Mantra 108 times every day we can achieve wonderful results.

The mineral which represents Sun is red Ruby. A person with weak Sun in his horoscope, will benefit a great deal by wearing this gem. Copper represents Sun so if Ruby is set in a copper ring and worn on the ring finger of the right hand, the energy of Sun will be boosted. Donation of Ruby will also help.

Sun’s representative herb is Ark or AAk(I don’t know the Latin biological name for it) It is a tough shrub with thick oval leaves and has blue or white flowers. It is usually easily found in the wilderness. Wheat represents Sun so donation of wheat helps if one is facing problems connected to him.
